I've heard and this new HD MUGEN.  However, it is said to run laggy, hi-res isn't all that certain (though I'm sure once it's complete it will be hi-res compatible), and older computers will have a hard time running it to full potential amongst other things (aside from palette issues that I'm hearing about that I don't have full info on).

For now, until I hear and/or see more about it and see a little more fixes, I'm going to stick with my old low-res MUGEN.  Yes, LOW-RES.  Hi-res MUGEN makes my computer lag... or maybe I need a better screenpack, meh, I don't know. Confused

dutch guy the ship in your sig would make an EXCELLENT mugen character!

with a little bit more backwards compatability, this engine could be made even more awesome.

Well, it should be quite possible, if we can find a creator willing to make that ship, scaled for size of course.  If you haven't seen the stuff that RicePigeon created, particularly his bosses (*stares at his Primus*), then that ship should nothing.

Besides, we do have shmups like the Vic Viper available.  It would make for interesting viewing.

So I heard. I tried it. it seems faster, but I played it on my laptop, which seemed to have better compatibility to SDL applications to begin with.
