Yep, Capcom is making this game and it's gonna be just like Mega Man 9. It's going to be on the Wii Shop Channel as Wiiware. It is not yet confirmed whether or not it will be on XBL Arcade or on PS Network. It is confirmed to have 3 playable characters: Mega Man, Proto Man, and another robot that no one knows much about. There are 2 confirmed robot masters: Sheep Man, who has Thunder Wool, and Commando Man, who has an array of attacks that stun Mega Man. It will also have downloadable content like Mega Man 9 and a store in it too.

Expected Release Date: March 2010

AW SWEET!!!  This sounds as good as if I had posted it myself... oh, wait.  I DID THAT ALREADY! Tongue

http://www.bmarquis.com/forum/index.php?topic=969.0

Sorry for the smart-alecky comment, but I've already announced the creation of Mega Man 10.  However, I never did post about the addition of Commando Man when I first saw it.  I'll give that credit to you.

But seriously, you know me, it's still some good news.  Hopefully it will be just as interesting as the last game.

Oh, Tongue

So much for being ahead of Mr. Mega Man himself.

Not surprising in the very least.  Most people would have suspected as such, but at least it's confirmed.

Latest Mega Man 10 news.  For those that don't know already, the Robot Master names have been announced.  We already know about Sheep Man and Commando Man, but now the other six are now public knowledge.  Here are the rest of them:

Nitro Man
Solar Man
Chill Man
Strike Man
Pump Man
Blade Man

You can check out some screens and official art of the game here:
http://media.wii.ign.com/media/054/054796/imgs_1.html

Some are interesting and cool while some others are kind of out there.  And no, the resemblence of Strike Man and Zero is mere coincidence... at least I think. Cheesy

Okay, we now have info about the weapons that are going to be in Megaman 10 (info credit: Megaman Network):
Commando Bomb: After launching the Commando Bomb, press up or down on the + Control Pad to make it turn at a 90 degree angle. The blast spreads horizontally (or vertically) and follows the contours of the landscape. This can be used to break through certain walls to get hidden items!

Wheel Cutter: Press the Attack Button once to attach the Wheel Cutter to your arm, and press the Attack Button again to launch it (it follows the contours of the landscape). You can launch it 3 times and it’s effective to attack enemies at a distance. You can attach the Wheel Cutter to your arm and dart at enemies!

Triple Blade: You can fire tri-directional blades and attack multiple enemies at one time. There are two patterns: surface-to-air on the ground, and air-to-surface in mid-jump.

Thunder Wool: You can launch a thunder cloud that slowly rises and a lighting bolt shoots straight down from the cloud.

Solar Blaze: Splits apart and launches firebombs (left and right) after a set period of time. Effective when you are pinned between two enemies.

Chill Spike: Launch a freezing liquid which flies in a parabolic trajectory. An enemy hit by the freezing liquid will freeze and become unable to move.

Rebound Striker (GO, Pokeball!  GO!): You can throw a rubber super ball straight and diagonally up or down. As it gets faster and stronger with each successive bound, you can build up power and hit the target to inflict maximum damage!

Water Shield: A rotating shield of water surrounds Mega Man. Pressing the Attack Button once more deactivates the water shield and hurls high-speed drops of water that spiral outward.

There is also info containing challenge mode and easy mode for those who are just getting into Mega Man or need some skill repolishing.  You can also see the official art of all the weapons in the game.  They all look really nice to me.  And seriously, Rebound Striker = Pokemon invasion of Capcom.  "Megaman, I choose you!"

Offical Release dates:
Wii: March 1, 2010... about two weeks away. Grin
PS3: March 11
X-Box 360: March 31

Okay, we're long overdue for some updates in the Mega Man 10 thread.  While this is, for the most part, common knowledge, it still should be noted about some of the DLCs for the game.

-Bass Mode:
First off, we have the Bass mode coming out this upcoming April 5th (for the Wii).  As most know that Bass was already confirmed as the third playable character, what some don't know is how Bass will play.  Bass will play close to his Megaman & Bass style: can dash and shoot multiple shots in multiple directions.  These shots are assumed to also destroy certain shielded enemies.  While he won't have his double jump converted over, it would still seem that Bass will be quite an interesting play without it.  It is also been heard that he will have his own independent story.

-Endless Attack Mode:
Next, is the Endless Mode which is carried over from Mega Man 9.  While not much has been disclosed about it, we can assume that it will have the same concept as last time.  In other words, go through as many mini-stages (via "screens") as possible without dying.  It should also be safe to assume that you must also go through the Robot Masters throughout the run.  Endless Mode will be out April 26th (Wii).

-Special Stages:
Finally, we have the special stages.  However, unlike Mega Man 9 where there was one long stage with a special boss ("Fake Man," that police robot that took Dr. Light from MM9), there will be THREE special stage each with a special boss.  What makes this even more special is that the bosses of each of the special stages will be a particular set of bosses from Megaman's past: the "Megaman Killers."

For those that are unfamiliar with the Megaman (Rockman) Killers, they are a special group of robots made by Dr. Wily with the sole purpose of destroying Megaman.  These bosses only appeared in the Game Boy Megaman titles.  They are Enker (Megaman: Dr. Wily's Revenge), Punk (Megaman III), and Ballade (Megaman IV).  Each of them will be a boss of a respective special stage that resembles the game that they came from, even the music from those stages are slightly remixed versions of either the stage or theme each Killer had.  Not only that, but once you defeat the Killers, you will get to play with their weapons as in the Game Boy titles (more than likely via a new game).

NOTE: For those that follow the GB Megaman titles, Quint (Megaman II) and Terra (Earth - Megaman V) are not in the game as they are not Megaman Killers.  Quint is supposedly a Megaman from the future, and Terra from a race of intergalactic robots known as "Stardroids".  FYI

The release dates for each special stage is as follows according (as with most dates, they are for the Wii):
-Special Stage 1 - Enker: April 5th
-Special Stage 2 - Punk: April 26th
-Special Stage 3 - Ballade: April 26th

For more info on these special stages, see the below link:
http://www.themmnetwork.com/2010/03/22/capcomunity-is-harboring-killers/

I don't know about the PS3 or XBox 360 dates as I have yet to hear about them, so you owners of those systems might have to wait a while if the release dates of the PS3 and XBox 360 version of Mega Man 10 are any indication.
