Just a little side stuff I'm starting after my exams starting tomorrow. I had this idea for a while now and I think it's just about time to do this.
Those who played Soul Calibur III know what I'm talking about. To those that don't, the Chronicles of the Sword is a side-story with a character you create just for the story. It involves, in a nutshell, an empire beating a kingdom because they were at war, and the main character rebelling against said empire two or three years later. I'm going to do the same, however it's going to be with my own twists, like the main character coming from our time and stuff.
The story will be in two parts. Part one will be follow the course of action as seen in SC III with my own twists. Part two will be completly original, continuing a few years after the end of part 1.
Shots of characters will be put up after I make a picture of them. I'll put up the pics of the chars first, then make a new post starting the story.
Yes, I'm a very busy bunny.

Age: 22 Job: Gladiator Style: Sword and Shield Favored weapon: Katzbalger
Final character, wich is a bit of an antagonist. Soul Edge(note that actually only his right arm and shoulder should be armored, but since that can't be done in SCIII, both arms and shoulders are armored)

Just wait 'till next wednesday for the start of the story.
EDIT: added the 'style' catagorie to the limited char description, so you know what kind of weapons the characters will use. Also, the characters will get new pics for Part 2, because they'll look diffrently (diffrent armor and the like). EDIT 2: To those who play Soul Calibur III and want the formulas of these characters please PM me and I will send them as quickly as I possibly can.

Prologue This is another tale of souls and swords. Once there existed on a great continent three countries. The Grandall Empire, the Kingdom of Dalkia and the Halteese Republic. The Kingdom of Dalkia and the Halteese Republic waged a great war against one another for countless years. The Grandall Empire stayed out of the conflict, amassing their army quietly. In a time where King Chester, the great tactician and instigator of the war which later came to be known as the Mantis War, had not yet appeared in the annals of history. The key figure in the war was a young girl, born in the future. ================================================================================ Yeah, the prologue is pretty much the same as the one in the original version, just to make it close to a real story I guess. Only the final sentence is slightly changed. As a gift spoiler, the characters will not appear all at the same time, also the character Soul Edge will physically appear once or twice in the story, So yeah. Chapter 1 will be done when I feel like it.

Chapter 1 Soulless warriors of the Colosseum Neo-Grandall Colosseum. A structure like no other. It is well known for it's golden arcs and statues of heroes, gladiator and a royal man. There are also stained glass windows showing a beautiful blue sword with a split blade. But it's most famous for the swordfights it holds. Every five months, the Colosseum allows those who are trained or are training in the ways of the sword to duke it out against each other. The winner receives a hefty price of 150.000 Gold, the losers receives more knowledge and experience, and get to keep their lives...
"C'mon Ciel! We're going to miss the awesome fights if you keep moving that slow." "Relax Meagan! The fights start in an hour, so we have plenty of time!" A young girl ran up the hill first. She had short, blond hair and eyes with the same color as a sapphire. She was wearing a yellow off-the-shoulder top and an emerald short skirt. A second girl walked up the hill a few moments later. She had long, pinkish hair and emerald colored eyes. She was wearing a beige top and blue jeans. "Hurry up! I bet Jason's already waiting for us!", Meagan moaned. "Your point being...?", Ciel asked comically. Jason was a few years older then Ciel. She always thought he was a bit of a freak and that he and Meagan wouldn't be a great couple. "Besides, we're there. Even with time to spare, damnit!", she laughed. "Jacky! I've missed you!", Meagan screamed with passion. A young, pale-skinned man wearing a black long-coat walked towards them. He was also wearing a black bandanna, so no-one knew what color his hair was, eventhough brown locks could be seen from underneath the bandanna. "Damnit woman, stop calling me Jacky," he sighed. "Now come on. Let's get our seats."
The Colosseum had room for 250.000 people, they were considered lucky as demand for a seat was ridiculously high. The arena itself was already locked with laser fences. Five minutes after everyone was seated, the fighters were raised from beneath the floor. "These guys look diffrent than the last times. I mean, look how pale their skins are," Jason noticed as the battles went on. "Yeah, it's really weird. That their skins are paler than yours!" Meagan joked. "I shouldn't have bothered..." Jason moaned.
Several hours later, the final began. It would be between 'Predator', a woman wearing thief's clothing and a laser dagger and reigning champion, and a man calling himself 'Soul Edge'. He was the underdog of the tournament, because he was wearing traditional armor on his waist, legs, head and right arm, and he wielded a traditional sword, though it looked like the sword was alive because of the blinking of the eye. The battle ended in just seconds, Soul Edge immediately took the upper hand and sliced Predator in the back. "Congratulations Soul Edge! You are now the new champion!" the announcer said as the man collected his price money. "Is there anything you want to say?" As Soul Edge opened his mouth, a strange, nearly demonic voice could be heard. "Yes. Now all of you wretched humans must offer your souls to me as these weaklings did!" As he said this, Predator got on her feet, enveloped by a strange purple aura. All the other fighters Soul Edge fought appeared, also being surrounded by the aura.
There was panic throughout the Colosseum. "Jacky, Ciel! Where are you!?" "Jason, Meagan!" "Girls!? Girls! Where the fuck are you!?" Without her noticing, Ciel went in the direction of the arena. When she got there... there was no-one around anymore! Except for that bastard Soul Edge! "We were meant for eachother, woman..." "What happened!? What did you...?" "You'll find out soon enough. Hehehehehehehe..." Soul Edge suddenly disappeared. A single glowing shard was left at the place he was standing. It was likely from the strange, red sword Soul Edge was wielding. As she reached for it, a surge of pain rushed through her arm. "Ouch! That weapon's probably not for the physically weak men and women..." She reached for it again, this time picking it up without a trouble. At that moment, the floor opened, and she fell down a strange wormhole... ===================================================================================================== End of Chapter one. What's your opinion in it? Good start or...?

Chapter 2 Blast from the past "Where... Where am I?" What seemed to be moments after the Soul Edge incident, she awoke in a seemingly old styled house. The room was pretty bland, it only had a bed and some curtains. She tried to sit up, but fell back in the bed. She was still too dizzy from it all. At that point, an old man entered the room. "How do you feel, child?" "Where am I?" she asked again. "You don't remember?" Ciel looked at him with a questional face. She made it clear to the man that she wasn't from the area. "Where... are you from?" he asked. "I'm from the city Artega." she said. "Artega? Where in the world is that?" he laughed. "It's in Neo-Grandall." The man looked at her shocked. He gave her the soup he was carrying and quickly exited the room. Not long after that, she could hear strange sounds from downstairs, as if a battle was going on. As soon as she felt good enough to stand and walk around again, she raced downstairs. What met her was a room that looked like there was a struggle, with the man laying dead next to the door. She went to the man to pay her respects, but then she could hear a strange, yet familiar voice. "Take his weapon..." "What the- Who are you!?" "Take the weapon." She looked at the weapon the man was holding. It was a hefty looking paddlelike thing. "Why should I take it?" "You must fight to survive..." She hesitated, but took the paddle, whispering an apologie. The paddle was completly made of steel, making it a very blunt weapon. She quickly headed outside, recognizing the castle to the west. "Am I still... in Neo Grandall?" As she walked on, a young man carrying a rod walked up to her. "Did you do that?" he asked. "N... no. I only just got here. I haven't got a clue what happend here." She looked at him for a little while. He was wearing a strange, brown tunic, silverlike dragons printed on the waist section. He wore beige pants with flames from the feet section. He had blackish hair braided in three ponytails, one at the back of his head and two at the front. He had sky blue eyes and a scruffy beard. "Shall we go to Parousia?" "Sorry, Parousia?" "Haha, you're not from around here, are you? Parousia is the capital of Grandall." "I see..." She couldn't believe her ears. If this was true, that sword fragment brought her 500 years back in time! She would just have to play along for now. "So, are you going to join the Grandall army?" the man asked. "Uh... Yeah! I am." she answered. "Really? Me too! Care for a little walk?" "Sure. My name is Ciel by the way." "Li-Shin. A pleasure to meet you." "Oh... the pleasure is mine..." And they started walking to Parousia, to enlist in the Grandall army...

Pretty good storytelling thus far. Should be interesting to see how this all plays out if you keep up the current pace. I'll try to read each chapter as it comes.

Hehe, thanks man. I appreciate it. Before continuing on with chapter 3, I'd like some to hear some suggestions. When the two will enlist for the Grandall army, do you guys want me to give a detailed story of two years (that's how long I'm going to make the acadamy) or a brief summary of the important bits, or just skip it and continue on after the two years to the final lesson? Your call.
Also, the final lesson (not the test but just the last lesson) will mark the start of the story as seen in Soul Calibur III (meaning Chronicle 1) but I'll keep it in my own style, so things will be altered.

I'll answer that with a question: Will those two years be an important part of the story or not?
If the academy lesson are going to be uneventful with mostly training lessons and minimal character development that is to be saved for after the lessons, then they can be kept brief. However, if there is something very important within those two years with character development that can segway to a future scenario that is equally important to the story, then you might want to give a detailed account for the two years.
In the end, go with whatever you think is sufficient for the story, but it will still henge on those two scenarios above.
